Here's the breakdown.

You can use:
??? Any item below item level 245.
??? The item level 245 set pieces that drop from 25-player Trial of the Crusader but also appear in the 10-player Tribute Chest.
??? Any gear that drops in 10-player Trial of the Crusader or Trial of the Grand Crusader, including item level 245 Trial of the Grand Crusader drops and item level 258 cloaks from the 10-player Tribute Chest
??? Any item level 245 items purchased with Badges of Triumph.
??? Any item level 245 Bind on Equip item, including crafted pieces.

You cannot use:
??? Any item level 245 item not included above (primarily Bind on Pickup drops from 25-player Trial of the Crusader, but also notably Val’anyr).
??? Any item over item level 245 except for the 10-player Tribute cloak.
??? Any higher item level loot introduced in future patches (25 player Onyxia 245s, Icecrown loot in the future, etc.)

"???" are intended to be bullet list i believe, not to signify confusion

Given how quick a ToGC 10 run goes, this feels pretty straightforward to gear up for.

I have my set ready save for a wep upgrade from togc10(only for the threat i'll need over the herald wep), and possibly the infernal neck(although that is only a slight upgrade)

After last week's quick gear run, it really will be easier to gear up this. :)

I have a preliminary gear set ready. Improvements can still be made, but I've done some simulation with Simcraft and it's within 5% of the theoretical DPS max gear set. It's close enough that I'm ready for serious Dedicated Insanity attempts.

Also: For some strange reason, I kept all of my 245 healing gear and T9, so I'm geared for disc healing as well.

For those of you wanting to perform your own simulations, I've found the best way to do it is as follows:
Step 1: Construct your current / ideal gear set at http://elitistjerks.com/rawr.php.
Step 2: Export your gear set (using File > Save), saving it to your local drive.
Step 3: Install Simcraft on your computer: http://code.google.com/p/simulationcraft/.
Step 4: Start Simcraft. In the Options tab, make sure the number of iterations is set to 10000.
Step 5: Import your gear set on the Import / Rawr tab. The UI is a bit weird: you need to change the directory first, then select the file name from the list.
Step 6: Simulate!

If you keep both Rawr and Simcraft open, you can very quickly tweak your gear set in Rawr and see the simulation results in Simcraft.
